Dr. Thomas Brüggemann , born 1958, qualified as a German lawyer in 1989. He read law at Göttingen University, thereafter obtaining his law doctorate. During stays abroad in Sydney and London Thomas Brüggemann worked in internationally known shipping law firms.
In 1989 he started his career as lawyer with Dabelstein & Passehl and was made a partner in 1994.Focus of Practice:
Thomas Brüggemann is a specialist in merchant shipping law with emphasis on Bill of Lading and Charterparty disputes. His further practice includes interlocutory measures (injunctions and ship arrests), ship financing, sale and purchase, newbuilding projects and registration of merchant ships and yachts. Thomas Brüggemann is a frequent speaker at seminars held speeches in seminars on arrest under German law. He heads the Dabelstein & Passehl “Ems-Office” which was established in 2002 in the city of Leer in the Emsland which is one of the central shipping regions in Germany.
