Esther Mallach , born 1957, qualified as a German lawyer in 1987. She worked as a sole practitioner until joining Dabelstein & Passehl in 1991. After a brief stay at their Hamburg office she transferred to the Dabelstein & Passehl office in London until July 2003. She has since returned to the firm’s Hamburg office from where she continues practicing as an English solicitor (qualified in London in 1996). Focus of Practice:
She is partner at Dabelstein & Passehl and specializes in international litigation and arbitration, shipping and insurance law (cargo and P&I), charterparty and yacht disputes, international carriage by road (CMR) and air, transport logistics, international commercial law including CISG, employment law and the international enforcement of awards and judgements. Being qualified as a German lawyer and English solicitor allows her to operate from Dabelstein & Passehl as a “one stop shop” for cross-border legal advice and assistance on German and English law. Esther Mallach is fluent in English and Spanish (having grown up in Madrid) and conversational in French. In spring 2004 she was accredited by the Law Society as a training principal for trainee solicitors. She is member of the Board of the German Maritime Arbitration Association (GMAA), member of the IIDM (Instituto Ibero Americo de Derecho Maritímo), the DIS (German Institute for Arbitration) and a supporting member of the LMAA (London Maritime Arbitration Association).
