Dr. Stefan Schrandt-Zimmer , born 1963, qualified as a German lawyer 1994 after law studies in Göttingen, Münster and U.C. Berkeley, three years of university assistance, in-house-counsel and head of legal department of a leading German shipyard from 1996 to 2001. Partner at Dabelstein & Passehl since 2002.Focus of Practice:
In the field of shipping law, he is a specialist on shipbuilding and supply contracts for all types of vessels, ship financing and ship registration worldwide. He advises on charter disputes and newbuild and design contracts for mega yachts and represents well-known shipyards and shipowners, in particular from the cruise industry as well as supports system suppliers in relation to their service and selling activities. His commercial and business law expertise addresses the full range of trade and corporate law, all with a very close practical corporate approach. In the area of criminal law concerning business offences, he focuses on corruption and bankruptcy cases and in particular on the very complex German and European export control law. All criminal offenses in relation to the operation of vessels are covered as well. Stefan Schrandt-Zimmer is an active member of various committees within the maritime industry.
