Volker Bald , born 1963, qualified as German lawyer and industrial engineer (BA). Following his A levels he read industrial engineering at the Industrial Academy Elmshorn, Germany; subsequently read law at Kiel University. In between he was retained by the Navy Operational Headquaters at the German Federal Defence Ministry. Following employment as assistant to the managing partner of a large trading enterprise Volker Bald was promoted to head of marketing and administration. Following his interest in the maritime industry he transferred as associate to a firm of lawyers specialising in ship financing and registration in 2003. He joined Dabelstein & Passehl in March 2008.
Focus of Practice:
His core activities are ship financing, ship sale and purchase as well as world wide registration of vessels, including containerships, tankers and yachts.
