Isabel Auf der Horst , born 1980, was admitted to the bar in 2009. After her studies in Bavaria and North Rhine- Westphalia, she obtained her First State Examination at the Heinrich- Heine University of Düsseldorf. During her legal clerkship (Referendariat) she worked i.a. for the representation of the Chamber of industry and commerce North in Brussels, for the Chamber of Commerce at the Country Court and for the Senate Office of the city of Hamburg. At the same time, she started her degree in politics and administration at the distance University of Hagen. After finishing her Second State Examination, Isabel Auf der Horst started writing a doctoral thesis at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg in the field of maritime law. She deals with the applicability of international conventions for the prevention of marine pollution by ships under the port State jurisdiction of the UN Convention of the Law of the Sea.Focus of Practice:
Her special areas of activity are merchant shipping law, international carriage by road and freight forwarding law.
